Eufy Indoor Cam S350 Review: A Smart Home Powerhouse with Dual Lenses, AI Tracking

Modern, high-tech features aren’t precisely what you’d expect from most interior cameras. The Eufy Indoor Cam S350, on the other hand, is a game-changer since it incorporates smartphone features like AI, 4K resolution, and twin lenses into home security. The camera is an excellent option for smart home security, except one major drawback.

When it comes to security cameras, the Eufy Indoor Cam S350 has you covered from top to bottom. A 4K wide-angle and a 2K telephoto lens are also available in the dual-lens arrangement. Soon, you’ll be able to get an 8x hybrid by combining the two. You may get a complete bird’s-eye view of your surroundings using the pan and tilt feature. In low light or no light at all, the images produced by either lens are superb. By using AI characteristics, the camera is able to automatically track moving objects, such as dogs or people. An extra microSD card allows you to keep videos locally rather than paying for a cloud service.

It won’t take you long to integrate the camera into your smart home system. You won’t have to go around your house for an additional cable or pay extra money since Eufy includes both the camera’s USB cord and power adapter. To add the S350, follow the on-screen instructions after installing the Eufy security software on your iOS or Android device.

Support for dual-band Wi-Fi 6 is another perk of the device. Not many inside security cameras have that feature. When you have such support, you should be able to manage the camera quickly and with top-notch picture quality from anywhere.

We will have the camera all set up and ready to go in a matter of minutes. While Apple HomeKit isn’t compatible with the camera, Google Home and Amazon Alexa are. Considering that a number of other Eufy cameras are compatible with Apple’s smart home ecosystem, this is rather unfortunate.

The absence of HomeKit connectivity will restrict the target audience, particularly for a camera with the S350’s extensive feature set.

To begin, go to your Amazon Echo Show or the Alexa app and add the Eufy skill. Pinch to zoom in on a scene using the Alexa app or Echo Show. However, keep in mind that the ability to pan and tilt isn’t built-in. The Eufy app is all you need for that.

After about two weeks of usage in my living room, I can confidently say that this indoor camera produces the highest quality images I’ve ever seen. My living room, which is the largest room in my home, is where I utilise it. Its rectangular design makes it challenging for a standard interior camera to capture all of the action.

You won’t have to worry about a thing with the Indoor Cam S350. The field of vision of most pan-tilt cameras is less than that of fixed-lens alternatives. However, the 4K wide-angle lens eliminates the requirement for the pan-and-tilt feature, allowing me to see the vast majority of the room with ease.

The Eufy app has a straightforward joystick option for when you need to pan or tilt. Using the 4K lens, a single tap may go from a 1x magnification to a 3x zoom.

To get even closer, use the standard pinch gesture to zoom in, and then switch to the 3x. When the camera is fully zoomed in, the screen will show an 8x magnification.

The 4K lens produced breathtaking images. I could make out the minute details, such the time on my watch and the temperature set on the thermostat across the room, even with night vision during the bright day.

At first, I blamed the little black spot on the lens for being dust or other debris since I was just getting the hang of operating the camera. When I looked at the camera more closely, I saw that it was just a preexisting nail hole in my wall.

When focusing, the 2K lens performed almost as well. Without a doubt, I could easily zoom in and observe precisely what was occurring if the camera was situated in a bigger space.

In addition to excellent manual control, the Indoor Cam S350 has a plethora of AI functions that allow it to pan and tilt automatically to capture your desired scene.

The Eufy app gives you the ability to capture motion from a variety of sources, including humans, pets, and more. Thanks to AI, the camera can follow a person or animal around the room with ease, panning and tilting automatically. Motion detection may be fine-tuned by creating activity zones. The camera will go back to its original location as soon as action ceases.

I had my doubts about the AI’s efficacy, but it’s a fantastic tool that has served me well. When no one is home, my two dogs love to curl up on the sofa where the camera is pointed. It’s really cool to see videos of them going to their favourite spot.

You may also utilise the Indoor Cam S350 to keep an eye on your little one. A baby’s cries or other noises in the nursery may be detected by artificial intelligence. You may also use the Round-Look function to observe the room when you hear sobbing.
